National Oilwell Varco reported a third quarter 2017 net loss of $26 million, or $0.07 per share. Revenues for the third quarter of 2017 were $1.84 billion, an increase of four % compared to the second quarter of 2017 and an increase of eleven % from the third quarter of 2016. Operating loss for the third quarter was $7 million, or 0.4 % of sales.

Paulo Ruiz Sternadt (42) has been appointed CEO of the Dresser-Rand business, part of Siemens Power and Gas Division. He succeeds Judith Marks (54) who will leave the company at her own request.

In line with its strategy to digitalize its offering, GF Machining Solutions, a division of GF, has agreed to purchase 100 percent of the shares of Symmedia GmbH, Bielefeld (Germany). The privately owned company has been specializing in software for machine connectivity solutions for the past 20 years.

Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG, specialist for individually configurable machines, has taken over beba Mischtechnik GmbH effective September 1, 2017. For over 50 years, beba Mischtechnik, which is also based in Essen (Oldenburg), has been developing and manufacturing forced-action mixers as well as foam mixers, from bore machine attachments to large processing plants.

Xylem nounced that Colin Sabol has been named Xylem Senior Vice President and President of Sensus & Analytics, effective October 1. Mr. Sabol succeeds Randy Bays, who will move into an advisory role with a focus on Xylem’s global manufacturing operations. Both will report to Xylem President and CEO, Patrick Decker.
