Xylem Wins $1.7 Million Contract to Support Development of Agricultural Irrigation System in Vietnam

Xylem has been awarded a $1.7 million contract with Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to design and supply advanced water pumping technologies as a key component of a significant irrigation project in Vietnam. Xylem will help to provide a reliable water supply at the Phu My pumping station in the Bắc Ninh province for 5,600 hectares (ha) of cultivated land in the area.

Bredel Pump Cuts Maintenance Costs at ‘Energy from Waste’ Plant

The trial of a new Apex35 hose pump from Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group at EEW Saarbrücken GmbH, a producer of energy from waste, has indicated the significant potential savings in pump maintenance costs. Not only is the Apex35 pump able to run without clogging, for a much longer period when pumping abrasive brine at EEW, but downtime and the cost of replacement parts is reduced greatly.

  • Safe Conveyance of Sour Crude Oil Despite Demanding Process Conditions

    Sour crude oil contains a high amount of impure sulfur. To convert sour crude oil into valuable and refined fuel the impurities occurring as elemental sulfur in solution and as hydrogen sulfide gas need to be removed. Due to the presence of hydrogen sulfide, sour crude oil is toxic, hazardous and extremely corrosive which makes its transportation to the preparation system challenging.
