Headquartered outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Minnesota Rubber & Plastics is a manufacturer of polymer and thermoplastic components and a system provider for technically demanding applications for several fast-growing industries such as medical equipment, water management, and food and beverage.

The bolt-on acquisition furthers Trelleborg’s ambition to provide innovative custom solutions to customers by accelerating product development and strengthening research and development in areas such as healthcare and medical, food and beverage, and transportation.

Linda Muroski, President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Marketing Americas and Global Healthcare & Medical, says: “This acquisition complements us in many ways, and we want to build a broader portfolio together. Our goal is to bring two strong companies together in a best of both approach and look at this as a coming together of two successful businesses jointly developing growth plans.

“The manufacturing locations for Minnesota Rubber & Plastics are strategically important for us and complement our setup. They also have an Innovation Center that not only produces production samples but also sets up manufacturing processes and programs the machines that will be used to produce the parts before they move into production."

Muroski continues: “Trelleborg is already a world leader in manufacturing precision seals from a variety of materials. Minnesota Rubber & Plastics has experience solving customer challenges using elastomers and thermoplastics. So, it is a good fit for our business. In the healthcare and medical industry, Trelleborg’s ambition is to be the partner of choice for medical device manufacturers, providing all materials, components and processes needed to deliver finished devices to market. Minnesota Rubber & Plastics will help us achieve this."

Jay Ward, Minnesota Rubber & Plastics President, adds: “We are very excited to be part of the Trelleborg family and leverage the strengths of both companies to become a one-stop-shop for customers requiring accelerated time to market. Together we are the natural development partner for both local and global customers, especially in the medical device market.”
