The inaugural edition of Heat Pump Technologies concluded with a more than positive outcome, attracting 116 exhibitors and over 6,000 visitors, 10% of whom came from abroad. These are solid numbers for a new and original format that focused on culture, science and technological excellence.

The new International Heat Pump Exhibition & Conference organised by RX Italy was held on 2-3 April at the Allianz MiCo in Milan, presenting visitors with the future of heat pumps and technologies related to the energy transition. A 4,000 m2 space where companies, professionals and stakeholders gathered to debate on the trends and technologies that will drive energy sustainability in the coming years.

“Creating a vertical event like Heat Pump Technologies was an ambitious challenge. Involving companies, experts and the public in a highly specialised event required vision and commitment”, said Massimiliano Pierini, Managing Director of RX Italy. “The success of the event was evident in many ways. On the one hand, participating companies found the perfect stage to present their excellence and expand their network of contacts through a streamlined and effective format. On the other, the enthusiasm and interest shown by industry professionals confirmed the value of a vertical format, rich in high-level content and innovative solutions proposed by the most cutting-edge manufacturers. In a context where energy transition and decarbonisation are central topics, events such as Heat Pump Technologies play a strategic role in fostering the spread of sustainable technologies and promoting a culture of innovation. The positive feedback shows that investing in highly specialised industry events is a winning choice, capable of generating value for all involved. I’m quite pleased with the results achieved”.

The audience of industry professionals filled the halls reserved for the two main conferences and 21 meetings held by industry associations and leading companies. On 2 April visitors got a sneak peek of the study “Heat Pumps in Italy: State of the Art and Future Scenarios” commissioned by RX Italy and produced by the Energy&Strategy think tank of Milan Polytechnic’s School of Management, which investigated the dynamics of the Italian market in order to identify the key variables influencing its spread in the various areas of application. On 3 April it was the turn of EHPA (European Heat Pump Association), which offered a European view of the business with a specific focus on the industrial world and the Clean Industrial Deal. From both main sessions the final message that emerged was the need to accelerate the deployment of these technologies, overcoming obstacles such as regulatory instability, unstable incentive policies, the price of energy and the skills gap in the supply chain.

Ample space was also given to technical and professional training, with a rich programme of vertical sessions organised in collaboration with the main trade associations and key partners of the event, including AiCARR, Angaisa, Assistal, Assoclima, Assogriforisti, Assotermica, Associazione Tecnici del Freddo, AVR, Anima Confindustria, CNA, CNCC (Consiglio Nazionale Centri Commerciali), Eurovent, Fire, Green Building Council Italia and KNX National Italia. A valuable opportunity for visitors to learn more about key topics, acquire skills and engage with qualified experts.

The Heat Pump Technologies Arena, the area dedicated to innovation at the centre of the trade fair, was also a great success with the public, hosting a continuous series of workshops, presentations and case histories offered by leading companies in the industry. An environment open to interaction, where participants can discover the most advanced solutions up close, explore success stories and learn more about the technologies that are redefining the climate-control and energy-efficiency landscape.

The strong attendance recorded over the two days is clear evidence that the path is set: now it is necessary to harness all the potential of a sector that is ready to lead the energy transition and that must be supported by targeted regulations and industrial policies.

The appointment for the second edition has already been scheduled for 7-8 April 2027, Allianz MiCo Milan.
