Sulzer Pumps Introduces the Pump Control and Monitoring System ABS Pump Controller PC 441

07.11.2011

The new ABS pump controller PC 441 from Sulzer Pumps is yet another phase of the ABS EffeX Revolution, which involves developing technology to reduce energy consumption and increase equipment efficiency and reliability for the wastewater industry.

By further improving the ABS control and monitoring system the ABS pump controller PC 441 for municipal pumping stations now offers the major benefits of:

  • Control and monitoring of up to 4 pumps and additional equipment
  • Complete surveillance of pumps and station improves the station’s availability
  • Many unique control functions to reduce energy consumption and service visits
  • Smart combination of functionality increases efficiency of pump, station and network
  • Future-proof technology easily accessed remotely via AquaProg substation configuration software

Functionality

The wide range of pump and mixer control functions of the new ABS pump controller PC 441 is really impressive. Controlling the pump alone enables user to: avoid water hammer and pressure on a network; minimize fat build-up and bad smells; keep spare pumps in good condition; avoid pump clogging when unused for long periods; save energy and prepare pump station for heavy duty; and avoid flooding of pump station.

The ABS pump controller PC 441 forms the core of a modular system that can be configured to form the control and monitoring system for up to 4 pumps best suited to particular applications. CAN-Bus is used for internal communication between the central controller and various monitoring modules. The selected system can be mounted in an ABS electrical cabinet to protect the modules from dirt and dust.
