SEEPEX Introduces its New Generation of Macerators for Progressive Cavity Pumps

16.01.2026
For decades, SEEPEX has optimized the performance of its globally sought-after progressive cavity pumps by using razor-sharp macerators to reliably shred solids and fibrous materials into the smallest particles. This prevents pipeline blockages and ensures reliable protection of downstream system components.

With a completely new generation of macerators, SEEPEX is now taking its shredding technology to the next level. The new Easy Maintenance Macerator stands for maximum service convenience, optimized cutting performance, and increased system availability. Starting January 1, 2026, the company ushers in a new phase of its Easy Maintenance strategy.

“Our new macerator generation offers our demanding customers a range of benefits in terms of handling, maintenance, and cost-efficiency, as they benefit from reduced wear and significantly longer service life. At the same time, SEEPEX strengthens its market position with this new solution”, concludes Guntram Schulz, Global Market and Product Manager at SEEPEX.

Small Parts – Big Impact in Wastewater Flow
Cotton swabs and wet wipes in wastewater, bones and fishbones as well as shells, pits, and fibers in food production – many industrial waste processes end in a liquid, pumpable suspension that still contains solids and disruptive materials. These can significantly impair subsequent processes. The Easy Maintenance Macerator homogenizes sludge through an efficient shredding process, ensuring smooth transport of the medium through the pump. This increases operational safety and minimizes the risk of disruptions throughout the entire plant process.

Technical Highlights
Key technical highlights of the latest SEEPEX product include: Flow-optimized shear plate geometry, durable, replaceable knives made of highly wear-resistant tool steel, and a reversible shearplate. The design allows easy and quick access to the cutting unit – both for maintenance and for removing foreign objects - without lifting equipment. The macerator achieves a throughput of up to 100 m³/h with motor ratings of 1.5 kW (standard), 2.2 kW and 3 kW. The optimized cutting performance ensures extremely fine shredding of solids and fibers. Entanglements are significantly reduced, enabling long-term trouble-free pump operation. The new macerator thus increases the reliability and service life not only of SEEPEX pumps but also of other connected process installations such as centrifuges or screw presses.

Quick access and predictive maintenance
The Easy Maintenance Macerator meets customer requirements with quick access and simple servicing. The foldable cutting unit allows convenient opening of the machine from above. The shearplate is easily accessible and quickly replaceable. Blades can also be mechanically adjusted from the outside. Cleaning and removal of foreign objects can be up to 80% faster. An optional reverse operation is available: the knife rotation direction can be changed during operation. Blockages can thus be cleared without opening the macerator. Additional operational safety is provided by an integrated debris separator. A separate cleaning flap allows direct access to the housing, enabling quick and easy removal of disruptive solids. SEEPEX expects the new macerator to achieve double the service life and significantly reduce spare part costs – thanks to the reversible shear plate and bidirectional operation.
