"Overall, we are very satisfied with the outcome of ACHEMA Pulse, and we also received a lot of positive feedback from exhibitors and participants," said Dr. Björn Mathes, Member of the Board of DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH, summing up the experience of the last few weeks. "Our goal was to offer the global chemical and pharmaceutical industry the opportunity for intensive exchange and to provide impetus for current trends in the process industry. We succeeded in doing so." This was evidenced, among other things, by the high number of interactions (chats, video calls, downloads and visits to company profiles), which totaled around 125,000. 77,692 visits were counted in total in the virtual lecture halls.
The ACHEMA Pulse concept focused on two goals: In order to offer participants enough time to process the extensive information provided by exhibitors and to get in touch with experts worldwide, the platform was open for a whole month. During this period, participants could contact exhibitors and each other via chat or video call and initiate discussions. At the same time, participants were to have a joint date to discuss the latest trends with high-ranking decision-makers and experts from around the world. This is what happened on the two Live Days on June 15 and 16. In total, around 460 hours of presentations, discussions and workshops were streamed from the live stages, in the virtual congress and in the exhibitor channels. "The live stages ensured that we were able to create an atmosphere that differed greatly from a purely virtual event," said Dr. Thomas Scheuring, CEO of DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH. "The program was very high-caliber, and the speakers who were on site in Frankfurt were particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to interact in person."
A total of 960 exhibitors from 38 countries participated in ACHEMA Pulse; 55 percent of exhibitors came from outside Germany, with China, Italy, France, Switzerland, the U.S. and the U.K. providing the largest contingents. The 15,000 registered attendees, also 55 percent of whom were from outside Germany, came from 121 countries. In addition to the live streams, the on-demand offerings were also heavily used in the second half of June - no surprise given the enormous variety and the many attractive sessions.
"ACHEMA Pulse has proved that a virtual event can be a good complement to ACHEMA as a physical exhibition," says Björn Mathes. DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH plans to further develop the format as an additional offering between ACHEMA dates.
