The British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) was delighted to return to the famous St George’s Park in Staffordshire on 14th March for the staging of its 2024 Pump Industry Awards presentation evening. With a record number of submissions across the eight categories, this year’s awards programme again produced some truly exceptional entries from right across the pump manufacturing and distribution arena.

Water technology is playing a crucial role in an urban regeneration project to connect Rome and the Vatican City for the Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee. The historic project will extend the Lungotevere in Sassia underpass to enable the creation of a new pedestrianized zone that connects Castel Sant’Angelo with St. Peter’s Square. The extension will be completed as the City of Rome prepares to welcome 35 million visitors for the Jubilee – a special year of grace in the Catholic Church.

The exhibition ends with results confirming it as a world leader in civil and industrial plant engineering, air conditioning, renewable energies and water world. The edition was focused on energy efficiency and energy transition, and it served as the foundation for various conferences, debates, and meetings. MCE Lab will continue to serve as a reference point until the next edition in March 2026, with a new appointment scheduled for 2025.

Robbie Moore MP, UK government minister for water, has addressed the demand gap in resources during his keynote address at British Water’s International Reception, which took place in London on 19 February 2024. He called for greater collaboration and innovation in finding solutions.
