Julian Lowe (Mapal Green Energy)

Previously UK sales manager for Ovivo, the water treatment solutions specialists, Julian brings a wealth of experience of the complexities of selling to the UK water utility and industrial sectors which will be invaluable to Mapal Green Energy, as it seeks to grow its business, particularly post the introduction of AMP 6, Ofwat’s latest industry plan. Prior to joining Ovivo, Julian held the role of business manager at Grundfos Pumps, again specialising in sales to the UK s water utilities.

With its focus on Totex, AMP6 looks set to open up new opportunities for technology companies that supply low cost solutions to enable water utilities to utilise existing assets more efficiently. Cutting waste water treatment costs is high on the list of priorities, especially in terms of energy saving. Mapal s floating fine bubble aeration is designed to replace mechanical and subsurface aeration systems, with the system offering operators a number of significant cost saving advantages.

Commenting on his appointment, Mapal CEO Zeev Fisher said, “Julian brings a wealth of invaluable experience, having dealt very successfully with the UK water utilities and the industrial sectors over nearly twelve years, where he delivered high volume sales. As Mapal seeks to build on its position with Thames Water, United Utilities and Anglian Water, this knowledge will be invaluable in helping realise our ambitious growth plans.”

Julian adds, “I am looking forward to contributing to the growth of Mapal Green Energy. With tried and tested technology which is ideal for many of the UK utilities as they plan to meet the demands of AMP6, I am confident that Mapal Green Energy will be able to grow quickly not only in this sector, but also in many areas of manufacturing where biological water aeration is a key part of the overall process.”

Mapal Green Energy recently announced its first joint project for Thames Water working with Xylem under the direction of Thames Water’s lead contractor, Black & Veatch.
