Largest Order In The History Of CHRIST

06.08.2007

Aqua Engineering, Mondsee, a Group company of Christ Water Technology AG, was awarded the engineering and construction on a turnkey basis of a large seawater desalination plant by Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, leading a consortium together with the local construction partner Tecton Engineering L.L.C.

The total value of the order amounts to USD 121 million, of which USD 84 million is the share of Aqua Engineering, consisting of the delivery and assembly including commissioning of the entire SWRO (seawater reverse osmosis) membrane plant. Following three years of construction, the plant will produce 91,000m3 drinking water per day according to the strict rules of the WHO out of seawater for the local population.

Dr. Johannes Laimer, Managing Director of Aqua Engineering, says, “not at least our convincing technological solution, low operating costs and our extensive experience in desalination pant construction in the Gulf region made us win the order. This project is the first stage of a total of five plants planned of similar size giving us good chances for follow-up orders.”
