Jonathan Samuel Appointed as GIW Industries President and CEO

GIW Industries Inc., the leader in the design, manufacture, and application of heavy-duty centrifugal slurry pumps, recently named Jonathan Samuel President & CEO. This appointment is in addition to Mr. Samuel’s current role as Vice President of Global Hard Rock Mining for KSB Mining.

With 27 years of hands on expertise in the pumping industry, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position. Jonathan Samuel earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in India before beginning his first career opportunity as a Sales and Application Engineer with Nerelge Corporation in India in 1991. In January 1994, he joined KSB Pumps Ltd, in India as a Sales Engineer. This led to his first position with GIW Industries as an Application Engineer and Project Manager in 1999. He then held various roles with progressively larger scopes of responsibility. Mr. Samuel has served GIW as Region Manager, Asia, Brazil and Australia; Commercial Manager - Project Management; Region Manager, Europe, Asia and Global Dredge; and Region Manager, Global Dredge, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.

In January of 2017, Mr. Samuel began his term as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In 2020, this role expanded to include Global Hard Rock Mining. Mr. Samuel’s extensive career with KSB and GIW has allowed him to gain valuable experience across market segments globally in preparation for this opportunity. His strong technical and product knowledge, along with his outstanding reputation as a trust and relationship builder among customers, offer key experiences and competencies that he will use to lead GIW Industries forward into the future.

Former GIW President, Wolfgang Demmler, will continue to serve as Head of KSB Mining. He has relocated to KSB’s corporate office in Frankenthal, Germany.
