He will assume responsibility for the newly created Procurement, Production and Logistics organization.

Johannes Giloth comes from the Nokia telecommunications group, where he has held the position of Chief Procurement and Chief Supply Chain Officer for several years and - amongst other things - successfully implemented the digitalization of the group’s procurement organization and supply chain.

Dr. Helmut Perlet, Chairman of GEA’s Supervisory Board, stated: "With Johannes Giloth, GEA welcomes an internationally experienced manager, who is uniquely qualified and suitable for establishing the new Executive Board portfolio on the basis of his extensive expertise that includes specialized knowledge in the fields of process optimization and digitalization. Furthermore, within the framework of a wide range of different projects, he has demonstrated that a streamlined supply chain and/or procurement organization may sustainably support operational business while giving rise to additional growth."

Holding a Master of Business Administration and Engineering degree, Johannes Giloth already held many different management positions at both national and international level in the areas of procurement, logistics and production before assuming his current position, amongst others with Nokia and Siemens.

In the future, GEA’s currently highly decentralized purchasing activities will be subsumed under one global procurement organization. Moreover, GEA is seeking to further optimize its production footprint and bring about more flexibility, for instance by operating multi-purpose sites at which different products may be manufactured subject to demand.

Stefan Klebert, CEO of GEA Group, added: "I am delighted that the Supervisory Board has appointed Johannes Giloth as the company’s COO. Given his high level of expertise, he is the right person to assume this function for the purpose of harnessing GEA’s potential synergies that have not been fully exploited yet - in particular as far as procurement and the production footprint are concerned - and for further optimizing them by means of a new, uniform management structure."
