Intuitive Dosing Pump for Aggressive and Corrosive Liquids

09.10.2013

Dosing very aggressive and corrosive liquids in laboratories is a challenge. Diaphragm pumps are the ideal tool for this difficult task. The new Simdos 02 FT (full Teflon) from KNF Neuberger has been especially developed for the transfer of aggressive chemicals.

To do this, the Simdos 02 FT is fitted with a PTFE head, a PTFE-covered diaphragm, and chemically resistant FFKM Kalrez valves. An optionally available Chemraz-valve kit even allows using the pump with highly concentrated acids such as nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acids and solvents such as TFH, DMF, DMSO and MEK. The pump head is situated outside the splash-protected IP-65 housing, providing a very significant safety feature.

Also available with heads in PP or PVDF, the new Simdos 02 FT dosing pump transfers liquids with a flow rate of 30 µl to 20 ml/min, and dose volumes of 30 µl up to 999 ml. Following calibration, repeatability is +/-1% (full range) and the pump offers excellent long-term stability and consistent reliability throughout entire processes. The Simdos 02 FT is safe to run dry and is self-priming up to 2 m. It is effective against pressures of up to 6 bar, and transfers viscous media up to 150 centistokes. The integrated software permits the transfer parameters to be modified for a range of different viscosities at the touch of a button. Thanks to its neat design and small footprint, the new Simdos 02 FT dosing pump takes up very little valuable laboratory space.

Dosing of Sugar Icing on Bakery Products

19.09.2019 -

Sugar icing is the “icing on the cake” of many baked goods. The dosing is usually done by hand in complex production steps. Most today s gingerbread decorations, for example, are still made manually with the piping bag. But the degree of automation is also being increased in the baked goods industry. There are several reasons for this: Stricter hygienic regulations or high personnel costs, for example. With the endless piston technology on which the dispensers and dosing pumps from ViscoTec are based, decoration tasks or filling in the confectionery industry can be carried out semi-automatically and fully automated.

Filling and Dosing Without Sedimentation

13.09.2019 -

A major challenge in dosing technology continues to be the gentle dosing of solids-laden liquids without damaging the solids. In addition, there is a risk that the solids will settle during prolonged downtimes. The material sediments. If this happens, the dosing unit becomes clogged and must be completely disassembled and cleaned. This interrupts the entire dosing process.
