A super heavy duty 1 piece closed style impeller, made from marine grade aluminium, weighs up to 2 ½ times that of competitors and offers big water channels between its side plates. The large water passages enables some solids to pass through the pump rather than clogging the impeller, causing pump failure.
“We refuse to use lightweight plastic impellers or a rivetted type design” said Product Manager, John Whiteley. “It’s more expensive to make a heavy duty one piece impeller, but the user benefits are tremendous” he said.
The Fire Chief features a bolt on suction flange with standard 50 mm ports. The 50 mm ports mean more water can get into the pump for higher flow rates at high pressure. The detachable suction port also means the check valve can be serviced without having to dismantle the entire pump, a feature not found on other major fire pump brands.
The Aussie Fire Chief is available in a wide range of configurations, including a super high pressure twin impeller version, the Aussie Mr T, that provides pressures in excess of 135 psi and huge flows.
