The lower Chao Phraya River basin, which includes the Thai capital Bangkok, is chronically affected by flooding during the rainy season. Widespread flooding in 2011 caused economic losses of more than 4 trillion yen. Bangkok has developed a flood control channel as part of its flood control program.
The Klong Prem Prachakorn drainage project is the construction of the third major drainage tunnel started after 2005. Having already supplied more than 1,000 drainage pumping stations in Japan, as well as products in Bangkok, Ebara's large-scale pumping plants were able to successfully complete the contract.
So far, a total of four plants have been built and commissioned for this project. Of the five plants, it will be the third plant for ETL to be supplied to the first plant, the "Makkasan Drainage Tunnel Project", and the fourth plant, the "Nong Bon Drainage Tunnel Project". Completion is scheduled for the year 2025.
