Changes in the Voith Hydro Board of Management

Dr. Tobias Keitel will be appointed President & CEO of Voith Hydro and a member of the Corporate Board of Management of the Voith Group effective November 1, 2022. He succeeds Uwe Wehnhardt, who will continue to be available to the company as Senior Advisor.

Dr. Tobias Keitel acquired a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris and studied industrial engineering with a subsequent doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin. He has worked among others for The Boston Consulting Group and MAN AG. In 2011, Tobias Keitel joined Voith Hydro as a project manager. He has since held various management positions and was appointed member of the Management Board of Voith Hydro in 2016. On the board, he was last responsible for the areas of project execution, as well as service and sales.

We wish him continued success in his new role,” said Prof. Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Voith Shareholders' Committee and Supervisory Board. "At the same time, we are pleased that with Tobias Keitel we are able to appoint an internal successor to the Corporate Board of Management, who knows the hydropower business very well".

Hydropower is the largest, oldest and also most reliable form of renewable energy generation. Worldwide it makes an indispensable contribution to the achievement of climate goals as well as to stable power supplies, hence to economic and social development.

Michael Rendsburg will succeed Dr. Tobias Keitel as Chief Operating Officer at Voith Hydro. After completing his degree in mechatronics at the University of Stuttgart and at the Massey University in New Zealand, Rendsburg held various positions in R&D, supply chain management and manufacturing in the automotive industry and worked for an international strategy consultancy. Since joining the Voith Group in 2014, he has held various management positions at Voith Paper.

ANDRITZ to Equip New Hydropower Plant in Turkey

The Turkish water authority Devlet Su İşleri (DSI) has selected international technology group ANDRITZ to supply the electro-mechanical equipment for the new 160 MW Silvan hydropower plant in Türkiye. The company will supply four 40 MW turbines, four generators, associated hydropower plant equipment, and a 154 kV switchyard system.
