The Bison VFD features adjustable operating speed, flexible mounting options and the capability to control most types of motors, and is suitable for a wide variety of industrial and outdoor applications.
The Bison VFD significantly reduces energy consumption by enabling electric motors to operate at less than full speed. Many motors are designed to run at a constant speed, but in actual use, speed requirements fluctuate. This inefficiency is analogous to running a car engine with the tachometer showing the engine constantly at its maximum speed.
By allowing the operator to match the speed of the motor-driven equipment to the process requirement, the Bison VFD not only cuts down on energy costs, but it also reduces wear on the motor, extending its useful life.
The Bison VFD is exceptionally versatile. It controls multiple motor types — IE2, IE3, IE4 and IE5. Multiple configurations are available in voltages 110-480V and in both single and 3-Phase input options. The sensorless vector controls all types of motors, including induction, brushless DC, permanent magnet, and synchronous reluctance. The panel-mounted Bison VFD is outdoor-rated, washdown-ready and dust-tight, making it suitable for many environments.
Unlike many variable frequency drives, the Bison VFD is easy to commission and operate. The simple commissioning consists of a straightforward 14-parameter basic setup, with default settings suitable for most applications.
