The specific and patented shape of this new gasket design, named LATTYmultirating, represents a significant advancement in the field of flange gaskets by adapting to 4 different pressure classes. The Latty Group is a French specialist in industrial sealing. A member of the French Fab, it has been designing and manufacturing its products for over 100 years at its site in Brou, in the Centre Val de Loire region.

PLEUGER, a pioneer in the manufacture of submersible motors and pumps, is celebrating its 95th anniversary this July. Founded in Berlin in 1929, PLEUGER has been based in Hamburg since 1945 and in Hamburg Wandsbek on Friedrich-Ebert-Damm since 1951.

An applied research project in Scotland involving the use of earth observation science (EOS) in multiple water applications was just one of many highlights of  BlueTech Forum 2024 for Paul O’Callaghan, chief executive of BlueTech Research. The roundtable delivered by Professor Andrew Tyler, Scotland Hydro Nation Chair at the University of Stirling, and was one of 16 where delegates could tackle real-world challenges in creative ways. It was part of a rich two-day programme identifying ways water innovation is being put into action globally. 

UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) has announced that its chief executive, Steve Kaye, will be stepping down in November 2024. Richard Warneford, UKWIR chairman, will lead the search for Kaye’s replacement.

At the ACHEMA Opening on 10 June 2024 German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Dr Robert Habeck, and thought leaders from the financial sector, the chemical industry and suppliers pointed out how the process industry is positioning itself within new global framework conditions. Their conclusion: The process industry is vital for the transformation of the economy and society as a whole and international cooperation is the order of the day to overcome the manifold challenges.

The Turkish water authority Devlet Su İşleri (DSI) has selected international technology group ANDRITZ to supply the electro-mechanical equipment for the new 160 MW Silvan hydropower plant in Türkiye. The company will supply four 40 MW turbines, four generators, associated hydropower plant equipment, and a 154 kV switchyard system.

High pressure reciprocating pump specialist RMI Pump Systems has recently completed two comprehensive equipment overhauls and upgrades locally for mining customers in China. According to Sabrina Zhang, General Manager of RMI China, a full system upgrade was just delivered to Shennan Industry’s Xiaobaodang mine, which comprised an Grade B overhaul.
