Numerous exhibitors explicitly emphasized the great importance of the trade fair for their company. 22,726 visitors, including many top decision makers, attended over the four days. bauma CTT RUSSIA, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, has been part of the bauma NETWORK of Messe München, the largest network of the international construction and mining machinery industry, since December 2015. The trade fair occupied 55,000 square meters at the Crocus International Exhibition Center in Moscow, thus making it the largest industry event for this sector in Russia.

The number of visitors was about the same as the previous event last year. However, there was a noticeably high number of top-level decision makers among the trade visitors this year. The new Business-to-Business Matchmaking Program, which many exhibitors used prior to the trade fair to invite their most important customers, clearly made an impact here. The international visitors came from 55 countries. Besides Russia, the top 10 visitor countries were Belarus, China, Italy, Kazakhstan, Germany, Montenegro, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Poland and Ukraine.

Trade fair boss: most important platform for the Russian market
Thanks to the smooth operation of the exhibition and the positive feedback by exhibitors, Klaus Dittrich, the Chairman and CEO of Messe München, drew the following conclusion: “bauma CTT RUSSIA is, without doubt, the most important industry platform for the Russian market and also for the neighboring regions. This was clear once again this year. It provides information not only about trends and product innovations, but also helps when it comes to initial business contact and networking with an international audience.” 603 exhibitors from 19 countries presented their new products over the four days of the trade fair. 334 exhibitors, more than ever before, came from abroad. Alongside Russia, the largest contingents came from China (189 exhibitors), Germany (44), Italy (35), and Turkey (34). Many international industry heavyweights, which were already present at bauma in Munich in April, also made an appearance in Moscow, including Doka, Wirtgen, XCMG, Sany, Putzmeister, Volvo, and MAN.

Exhibitors: best platform for advertising new products
Numerous exhibitors emphasized the great importance of bauma CTT RUSSIA for their company: Wilfried Winkler: BPW-Ost CEO: “It seems that this exhibition was specially created for our company, since spare parts are necessary for everyone and always. Our company participates in the exhibition from the very beginning. A crisis or not a crisis, still bauma CTT RUSSIA is always in place. I wish the exhibition further prosperity together and a large number of new customers!”

Andrey Smolyanov, Commercial Director of Kudesnik LLC: “We have not missed a single exhibition since the time when it was held on the Khodynka field and we are not going to change our plans. Between ourselves, we always say that the new year begins not on the 1st of January, but after the end of the exhibition bauma CTT RUSSIA. Therefore, here we always try to present new products, as we do not see for ourselves a more powerful impetus for the promotion of new products than participation in your exhibition.”

Sergey Ignatiev, General Director, KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company: “We note that this year customer activity is even higher than in the past. There are so many partners and interesting projects, useful contacts have been accumulated in large numbers during the days of the exhibition.”

Great response to bauma CTT Forum
The bauma CTT Forum, which was designed for the first time as an open conference platform at the heart of the trade fair action, met with a great response. This is where Klaus Dittrich opened bauma CTT RUSSIA. In addition, with support from IFAT, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Environmental Technologies, the Forum was the stage for presentations, including Mining Day, which placed a special focus on sustainable “clean” technologies for environmental protection.

The bauma CTT Forum also provided an outlook on the development of the Russian construction machinery market. The need for suitable devices and equipment is high since the aim is to invest 6.3 billion rubles in infrastructure development, including road construction, by the end of 2024. The Forum therefore also deals with the rental and leasing of construction machinery.

Awards for innovative solutions presented for the first time
This was also the first time that awards were handed out, as part of a competition, for innovative solutions in construction machinery in Russia. The awards were presented in seven different categories. The winners were: Schwing Stetter in the category “Concrete Pump Truck of the Year” (winning innovation: SCHWING S36X), Galichanin in the category “Mobile Crane of the Year” (KC-55721-1B, PIONEER range), GIRAFFE and Manitowoc in the category “Tower Crane of the Year” (TDK-40.1100 / POTAIN MCT385 L14), DST-URAL in the category “Bulldozer of the Year” (TM10 GST12), Volvo and MAN in the category “Dump Truck of the Year” (A 60 H / БЦМ-59), Volvo in the category “Wheel Loader of the Year” (L260H), and Hyundai in the category “Excavator of the Year” (R300LC-9S).

bauma CTT RUSSIA 2019 was supported by numerous trade associations, including the Russian association AEB, the Spanish association ANMOPYC, CCMA, CCPIT, and CMEC from China, the European association CECE, UNACEA from Italy, as well as the German VDMA.

The next bauma CTT RUSSIA will be held from May 26 to 29, 2020.
