Mann+Hummel Presents new Technologies in the Industrial Business

17.04.2019

Clean air, energy and resource efficiency, reduced operating costs and predictive maintainance through digital components. These are the benefits offered by the new technologies presented by the filtration specialist Mann+Hummel. The focus of the developments in the industrial business is on filtration, systems competence and proximity to customers worldwide.

StarBox series enables energy-efficient air/oil separation of compressors

StarBoxXT

and StarBox² are the new spin-on separators from Mann+Hummel for air/oil separation of compressors. The separator series ensures clean compressed air and at the same time reduces the energy consumption of the plants. The new series are StarBoxXT for superior separation efficiency and

StarBox² for particularly low pressure drop.

Both separators are designed for a wide flow range in order to make their advantages available over the entire working area even in compressors with a Variable Speed Drive (VSD).

The StarBoxXT is the new standard series. It offers a stable and reliable function in different operating ranges as well as a reduced oil consumption by approximately 30 percent. Energy-saving compressors with variable drives are also optimally supported. Mann+Hummel has developed a new sealing concept for a secure maintenance. Scratching of sealing surfaces with subsequent leakage or shearing of sealing elements during filter replacement is excluded by the design. The new StarBoxXT series can be used directly on existing compressors and is immediately ready to perform with all its advantages.

The innovative StarBox² offers decisive advantages in relation to energy consumption. Mann+Hummel developed the spin-on separator series especially for stationary and mobile compressors up to a performance of approximately 55 kilowatts. The StarBox² reliably separates the oil from the compressed air while managing to reduce the power consumption. This allows StarBox² to impress in comparison to other spin-on separators with a pressure loss which is up to 25 percent lower. This is made possible by an improvement in the flow characteristics in the connection area and a new sealing concept. At the same time they improve the assembly safety.

Predictive maintainance planning through digital air cleaner monitor Senzit

With the help of sensors, Senzit measures the status of air cleaners in real time. This applies to industrial applications, generators and mobile fleets such as those used on construction sites. Senzit immediately transfers the result to the user s mobile device. The air cleaner monitor offers users added value by displaying not only the loading status of the air cleaner but also its remaining service life, GPS coordinates and machine hours worked.

Lower operating costs thanks to Enataron air cleaner

The Enataron CD expands the Mann+Hummelportfolio of single-stage air cleaners in the area of 2 to 8 cubic meters per minute. It can be used with low to medium dust loads and is characterised by minimised flow resistance and therefore low operating costs. The Enataron HD 4 VAC is the right choice for operating conditions with high dust loads. The filter specially designed for vacuum pumps is characterized by pressure tightness down to a negative pressure of 500 millibar with an ambient temperature of 21 degrees and due to its robust design suitable for long periods of service.

Fast and clean service through Wavelock

The innovative Wavelock spin-on filter concept enables easy, quick and clean servicing. Mann+Hummel has, for the time being, developed the system for use in off road applications and offers a product variant mounted to the engine and also a product variant mounted to the chassis. A key element of the design is a bayonet lock which securely joins the filter head to the spin-on filter and simultaneously simplifies servicing. Mann+Hummel will in future offer its range of Wavelock spin-on filters as a modular system which is to be expanded in the coming years to include other sizes.

Sustainable Production Thanks to Efficient Filling Technology: Brewery Velké Popovice Invests in a Turnkey KHS Line

05.12.2023 -

Czech brewery Velké Popovice relies on technology from KHS: at the heart of a new glass line is the Innofill Glass DRS ECO filler. Velké Popovice uses the unfilled beer to cool the vacuum pump and thus save energy. With the installation of the rest of the line’s dry section planned for the start of the coming year, the brewery is thus relying solely on KHS technology – that also includes a number of holistic digital service solutions.
