Nori Morimoto Named Director, VBSS at ITT Industries

15.10.2003

ITT Industries, Inc. named Shigenori "Nori" Morimoto as the corporation's Director, Value-Based Six Sigma (VBSS), the company's overarching strategy for continuous improvement.

In his new position, Morimoto will develop policy, objectives and plans to further integrate VBSS into all of ITT's global operations. He has served in a similar role at ITT's Motion & Flow Control group of businesses since March 2000.

"Nori was one of the original members of the team that rolled-out VBSS at ITT three years ago, and since then he's been extremely effective in garnering wide internal acceptance for the strategy and finding ways to accelerate the rate of change and improvement in our organization," said Lou Giuliano, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "VBSS represents the largest investment in people that this company has ever made, and Nori is one of the key people responsible for its success."

Morimoto joined ITT's Fluid Technology group in 1990 as Manager, Product Planning and Development after a 17-year career with Xerox. He also served as Managing Director of ITT's Flygt Sales Company in Tokyo, Japan, and as Fluid Technology's Director, Product Planning and Marketing. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University and an MBA from the University of Rochester.
