WEG Supplies Motors for CEDAE in the World’s Largest Underground Treatment Water Pumping Station
Considered the world's largest underground treatment water pumping station, the Lameirão Pumping Station is essential for the water supply in the city, ensuring that millions of residents have continuous access to this vital resource. Its efficient operation is crucial for the quality of life in the region, making it a key component in the state's sanitation infrastructure.
The synchronous motors supplied by WEG, SDW models, include a 9,000 hp, 13,200 V, 18 poles, and 60 Hz and a 4,500 hp, 13,200 V, 12 poles, and 60 Hz motors. Designed to meet the specific needs of the station, these motors have the advantage of being interchangeable with existing equipment, simplifying installation and ensuring a smooth transition for the customer. This supply demonstrates WEG's expertise in adapting its solutions to complex infrastructure demands, as in the case of Lameirão.
CEDAE, a long-time WEG customer, signed another motor supply contract through a bidding process, aimed at the Guandu Treatment Plant, with deliveries scheduled from October 2024 to February 2025. This ongoing relationship demonstrates CEDAE's confidence in WEG's ability to provide robust and innovative solutions, directly contributing to the population's quality of life.
With this delivery, WEG not only strengthens its position as a reference in equipment supply for large projects, but also reaffirms its commitment to offering products that ensure greater reliability and safety in its customer's operations. WEG's participation in major projects, such as Rio de Janeiro's water supply, underscores the company's importance in developing technological solutions that meet critical infrastructure needs in Brazil.
