The main reasons for expanding the Bürkert site in India, which currently consists of four sales offices in different regions of the country, are to become even more global, to be close to local customers and at the same time to organise reliable supply chains. Therefore, over the course of the year, a modern manufacturing site covering around 50,000 square feet was built, which houses a production, assembly and testing centre as well as an administrative unit. By the end of 2024, the first 32 of up to 100 employees will start working in the new premises.

Sadiq Khan, Managing Director of Burkert Fluid Control Systems India, emphasised the importance of the new plant and pointed out that this is the company’s third production site outside Europe. “This location is a decisive step towards the realisation of a global value creation network for Bürkert,” he said.

The production site has a production capacity of more than 30,000 valves and 500 systems per year. Initially, the plant will focus on the manufacture of products such as mass flow controllers, angle seat valves, diaphragm valves and customised system solutions, with plans to expand and create additional jobs in the future.

During the official inauguration on 16 October 2024 by the Bürkert management, Bürkert CEO Georg Stawowy once again emphasised the importance of the location in Pune: “The opening of our new location in India is proof of our commitment to India and the ‘Make in India’ initiative there. By manufacturing on site, we can better serve our customers with customised products and systems that meet their specific requirements. Our aim is to make Bürkert an integral part of the Indian industrial landscape by combining our global expertise with local manufacturing capabilities.”

With the construction in Pune, Bürkert is further expanding its position in the Indian market and will be able to work even better with partners and customers in the future, true to the motto “We make ideas flow.”
