Spring, the UK & Ireland centre of excellence for water innovation, has announced the appointment of three new board members to help steer the organisation into its next phase. Graeme Wright, Christian Inglis and Anthony David King take up their positions as Spring moves forward with an enhanced programme to support the water sector with its innovation strategy.

EBARA held an opening ceremony for the office and plant on June 13. The ceremony was attended by 80 people from both inside and outside the company including Mr. Chow Kon Yeow, Governor of Penang, as the chief guest. Tetsuji Togawa, President of the Precision Machinery Company of EBARA CORPORATION, attended and gave a congratulatory speech as well.

Technology company Ovarro has opened a new leakage service centre for European customers, based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Steenwijk, Netherlands. The Ovarro European Service Centre is a dedicated hub for repairs, services and testing of all leakage equipment in mainland Europe. A new team of repair and service engineers is based at the facility, which also comprises a warehouse, offices and reception area.

Water technology company Orbis Intelligent Systems and artificial intelligence specialist VODA.ai have entered into a strategic partnership offering a combined skillset to support US utilities and municipalities with their leakage strategies. Orbis develops smart, data-driven technologies that provide real-time insights into pipeline infrastructure.

The Japanese Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Mr Hajime Hayashi, and the UK’s Foreign Secretary, the Right Honourable James Cleverly MP, joined forces today to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Invertek Drives Ltd in Mid Wales, UK. The commemorative event took place at the company’s global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Welshpool, Powys, and featured the official opening of a state-of-the-art variable frequency drive global Application and Training Centre.

Atlas Copco has completed the acquisition of National Pump & Energy. The business provides dewatering, environmental services and water treatment solutions in Australia and New Zealand. The company has 420 employees and in 2022 had revenues of approximately 205 MAUD. The company provides specialty environmental services and water treatment solutions for large and complex dewatering and sewage bypass projects.
