Svanehøj adds a significant reference to its expanding portfolio within ammonia applications. The Danish liquified gas equipment specialist has been awarded a contract to supply 32 deepwell fuel pumps for a new series of ammonia dual-fuel bulk carriers.

A quarter of a century has passed since the PCK Refinery in Schwedt/Oder, Germany (PCK Raffinerie GmbH) renovated its sewer systems, the so-called main sluice. In 1997, two approaches were pursued and compared with each other.

Water providers in Southeast Asia face challenges related to geography, economic development, climate change impacts and population growth. When building a new facility to develop semiconductors in Brisbane, Australia, Silanna Semiconductor needed a reliable supply of ultrapure water (UPW). Using a multi-stage solution from Xylem, the semiconductor manufacturer can now convert 70% of readily available municipal water into Type E-1 ultrapure water. The solution minimizes maintenance and downtime, reduces chemical use, and increases water efficiency.

Celeros Flow Technology (Celeros FT) has secured multiple contracts to supply the safety-critical nuclear pump packages for Sizewell C, the UK’s newest nuclear power station. The pumps will be designed and manufactured by the company’s ClydeUnion Pumps brand at its nuclear-accredited facility in Annecy, France.

EBARA CORPORATION (EBARA) announces the successful operation of its new leak-free canned motor pump for liquid ammonia, which features a newly developed structure introduced in September 2023. The product was delivered to JERA Co., Inc.’s Hekinan Thermal Power Station for demonstration of fuel ammonia substitution, and it successfully operated using liquid ammonia on-site.

During construction of a new convention center in Muskegon, Michigan, PFAS, also known as forever chemicals, was detected in the water being pumped out to build the foundation. Construction Simplified contacted Evoqua Water Technologies, a Xylem company, which quickly delivered a mobile solution that treated 21 million gallons (79,500 cubic meters) of water. By the end of the project, the mobile treatment solution had removed the PFAS to non-detect levels.

As part of one of the largest investments in Europe for wastewater treatment, a plant near Naples, Italy, was equipped with innovative technologies to improve water quality while minimizing energy usage. At the core of effective denitrification operations are Sulzer’s XRW 400 submersible mixers with a permanent magnet motor, which could cut energy costs by up to EUR 45’000.

Solutions enable industry and municipalities to address challenges of water scarcity, water affordability, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance. As water challenges escalate in India, Xylem is sharpening its customer focus and making it simpler for utilities, municipalities and commercial users of water across the country to adopt advanced water solutions.
