Built on the proven foundation of Wolong’s Quantum LMV and Quantum Large platforms, Quantum Infinity combines advanced electromagnetic design, enhanced cooling technologies, high power density and a customized modular design. The platform is intended for projects that require high output, continuous operation, reliable performance and a compact footprint, including new installations and modernization projects.

Quantum Infinity is available in ratings up to 10,000 HP; voltages from 2.3 kV to 13.8 kV; and 2–12-pole, 50/60 Hz configurations. The platform is designed for continuous-duty (S1) operation, with IP23W–IP55 protection, Class F insulation, direct-on-line starting, and unidirectional or bidirectional rotation. It is designed in accordance with NEMA MG 1 or IEC 60034, with API 541 Fifth Edition capability available, as applicable. WP-I, WP-II and TEAAC configurations are available, as are VFD and soft-starter operation.

Available configurations include hazardous-area-certified solutions for explosive gas and dust atmospheres, as well as application-specific features such as low-starting-current designs for weak power systems, winding and bearing temperature monitoring, advanced vibration monitoring, insulated bearings, shaft-grounding solutions and enhanced surge protection.

Quantum Infinity is designed for both reciprocating and centrifugal compressor service across the energy value chain. Applications include natural-gas gathering and boosting, pipeline transportation, gas storage, midstream compression, refineries, petrochemical complexes, LNG facilities, hydrogen processing and process- and utility-compression systems. The platform also supports high-capacity horizontal pumping systems in water conveyance, water and wastewater, municipal infrastructure, irrigation and flood-control applications.

Wolong designed Quantum Infinity around application flexibility, reliability and adaptability. During development, the company used advanced computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis to evaluate thermal and mechanical performance before physical prototyping. These engineering tools help Wolong optimize critical design characteristics early in the development process, supporting reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.

Wolong Electric America supports Quantum Infinity customers with North American application engineering and project management resources. Application engineers work directly with customers to evaluate operating conditions, technical requirements and system specifications, helping ensure each motor is appropriately matched to the application. Project management support helps keep customers informed from quotation and engineering through delivery, while Wolong provides commercially responsive pricing and competitive lead times.

“Quantum Infinity represents an important expansion of Wolong Electric America’s high-power motor capabilities,” said Jim Kvas, President of Wolong Electric America. “Our customers are investing in larger, more power-dense equipment for data centers, energy infrastructure, LNG, pipelines, and other critical applications. Quantum Infinity gives us the ability to provide application-engineered solutions up to 10,000 horsepower while offering the responsiveness, competitive lead-times, and North American engineering support our customers expect.”

Precision from the Ground Up: Startup and Maintenance Practices That Define Industrial Motor Reliability

28.04.2026 -

Industrial motors are often described in terms of horsepower, voltage, efficiency class, or frame size. Yet in heavy industries like oil and gas, power generation, mining, pulp and paper, water treatment, and beyond, motor reliability is not determined by nameplate data. Long term performance depends just as much on what happens before startup and after commissioning as it does on the motor’s electromagnetic design.
