Pump Solutions for VW in China

25.10.2011

Grundfos won the competitive bidding for supplying pump solutions to Volkswagen’s new building that is to house a new vehicle production plant in Yizheng in China’s Jiangsu Province.

The contract was signed in July 2011 after more than six months of negotiations between VW and Grundfos’ Shanghai sales office. Johnnie He from Grundfos Shanghai was in close contact with VW during the period and he managed to convey the Grundfos values and present our energy saving solutions and strong references in the automotive market in general and with the Volkswagen in particular.

Parallel with this, Grundfos’ International Project Sales Department was in close communication with VW Headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany.

"The general contractor was finally convinced about Grundfos’ values, based on our references in China and globally within the automotive industry, our global setup and our strong local service presence, said Mogens Holst, Director of International Project Sales at Grundfos, adding: In the end, the contractor requested a very short delivery time which Grundfos in Shanghai managed to meet."

The applications of pumps sold to the VW Yizheng Project include Heating and Ventilation (HVAC), water boosting, fire fighting and waste water treatment.
