02.08.2012

The quality of water will be crucial in the Aquatic Centre in London from 27 July to 12 August asthis is where the winners of the Olympic swimming, diving and synchronised swimming competitions, as well as the swimming part of the modern pentathlon will be decided.

A fundamental prerequisite for the athletes elite performance will be the maintaining of optimum water conditions in compliance with the exacting quality guidelines laid down by the Governing Body of National Swimming Clubs. ProMinent meets these exacting requirements with its water treatment systems.

Multi-parameter measuring equipment from the Dulcomarin II product range and amperometric sensors, in conjunction with diaphragm metering pumps of the delta type, are used to maintain the high quality of water in the training and competition pools. Sensors of the Dulcotest type continuously and reproducibly record all the relevant water parameters in minimal concentrations.

The Heidelberg-based company has been involved for decades in the treatment of competition water at the Olympic Games, starting with Munich in 1972, followed by Seoul in 1988, Barcelona in 1992, Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004. ProMinent s tailor-made products were also used for water treatment in the Beijing Olympic Games where seven ozone generation systems from the Bono Zon product range ensured the requisite water purity in the "Water Cube" and Yingdong aquatic centres.
