New Pump System Certification Program to Address Industry Skills Gap

"It provides a standardized framework for recognizing and developing the essential knowledge and fundamental skills required for success in this field."
Pump System Certification validates an individual's understanding of 16 core knowledge areas needed for working with pumps and systems. Developed by industry experts, the certification addresses the growing skills gap by:
- Formalizing knowledge transfer: Traditional on-the-job training is often informal and inconsistent. PSC provides a structured learning path and ensures a consistent level of knowledge across the industry.
- Streamlining workforce development: Employers can integrate the certification into their training programs using HI developed resources, enabling more experienced employees to spend less time training new hires.
- Attracting and retaining talent: The certification provides a valuable credential for job seekers, making it easier for them to demonstrate their expertise to potential employers.
To support candidates preparing for the certification exam, Hydraulic Institute University, HI’s educational foundation, has developed a comprehensive training program. HI Executive Director, Michael Michaud, emphasized the importance of workforce development: “HI renewed its focus on fundamental pump training recently to respond to the industry’s need to train and on-board new employees.
