New Drinking Water Circulators from KSB

Delivering potable water to the residents, commerce and industrial infrastructure of Montréal is a massive task for the City’s Water Department. The Department operates six water treatment plants, the largest of which are Atwater and Charles-J.-Des Baillets.

“Clean drinking water is a human right. And it is one of the most important future issues of our time,” says Dr. Laura Dorfer, Managing Director of the VDMA Valves Association. By using materials that are suitable and approved for drinking water hygiene and water-efficient technologies, the fittings industry is making a significant contribution to the responsible use of this important resource and to ensuring clean drinking water.

In 2023, the Frankenthal-based pump and valve manufacturer KSB achieved its highest ever order intake and sales revenue. At 7.9 %, the EBIT margin exceeded its expectations for the financial year. At the Annual General Meeting on 8 May, Dr Bernd Flohr, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed his satisfaction in view of the persistently difficult economic conditions.

Although chlorine is an integral part of industrial disinfection processes, handling the chemical is dangerous. In the worst-case scenario, incorrect dosing or direct contact with chlorine can cause damage to the lungs, eyes and skin. The solution from Lutz-Jesco: MINICHLORGEN, an electrolysis system that manufactures sodium hypochlorite from harmless salt tablets and makes it available for disinfection processes.

The Frankenthal-based pump and valve manufacturer KSB is continuing the positive development of the 2023 financial year in the first quarter of 2024. The key performance indicators order intake, sales revenue, earnings before finance income / expense and income tax (EBIT) and EBIT margin are all up on the comparative prior-year quarter.

The decision has been made: The production of Eta pumps at KSB’s headquarters will be expanded to become the centre of excellence for the latest generation of electronically controlled pumps in Europe. KSB will be spending around 60 million euros on this over the next five years – one of the largest single investments the company has ever made. KSB will have to do without the funding applied for from the federal government.
