ITT Opens New World Headquarters in White Plains

01.07.2008

ITT Corporation today opened the doors to its new world headquarters in White Plains, N.Y. at 1133 Westchester Avenue.

Approximately 185 ITT employees comprising the corporate staff and the headquarters staffs of the company s Fluid Technology and Motion & Flow Control groups will occupy nearly 100,000 square feet in the facility.

The group headquarters were previously located in Upper Saddle River, N.J., while the corporate headquarters had been based in nearby Harrison, N.Y.

"Since forming in 1995, ITT has moved boldly to reshape the organization from an independent collection of businesses to a strategic operating company that shares a common vision," said Steve Loranger, chairman, president and chief executive officer of ITT. "As we continue on this journey, our new global headquarters will enable greater collaboration among our many talented leaders and provide a work environment that is reflective of the world-class company we have become."

ITT s new facility features natural light throughout the workspace, open areas and flexible conference room environments for increased collaboration, and advanced technology systems. In addition, the global headquarters will be home to the ITT Learning Center, a state-of-the-art educational facility for employee training and leadership development.

When renovating the space, ITT chose "green" building materials and fixtures to create a workplace that was sensitive to the environment and safe for its employees. In addition to the environmentally friendly materials used in the construction of the space, the company has installed a number of controls, appliances and other features designed to reduce the consumption of energy and water while reducing waste.

The headquarters building was originally built and occupied by IBM. In 2006, the 620,000-square-foot office complex was purchased by RPW Group of Rye Brook, N.Y. and underwent a series of significant renovations, including the addition of a new 20,000-square-foot glass atrium entrance. ITT is the largest tenant at 1133 Westchester Ave. and will occupy three floors on the west side of the building.

The architect for ITT s space was RMJM Hillier of Princeton, N.J., while construction was led by Stamford, Conn.-based R&M Construction Corp. Project management services were provided by Cushman Wakefield of New York.
