Grundfos Main Sponsor of TEAM DANMARK

21.10.2003

Grundfos, joins the exclusive group of main sponsors of TEAM DANMARK. This is part of a major combined campaign involving the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. As for now, the agreement expires in 2004 with the option of subsequently extending the agreement.

For a long time, Grundfos has been on the lookout for an international sports sponsorship. With the TEAM DANMARK agreement, Grundfos has entered the international sports arena - and at the same time, Danish top athletes will appear as icons in the marketing of the Group's products.

"The idea is that Grundfos will run a major campaign on the European and Asian markets in the spring of 2004, featuring the Olympics as a theme. Customers will be invited to compete in different disciplines - and the winners are invited to Athens in August 2004." says to Group Senior Vice President Kim Klastrup, who is responsible for Branding and Global Marketing in the Grundfos Group.

TEAM DANMARK gets worldwide exposure

All international marketing material featured in the Grundfos Games campaign will emphasise that Grundfos is one of TEAM DANMARK's main sponsors. Furthermore, the TEAM DANMARK logo will appear in advertising, brochures and on posters worldwide to promote Grundfos pumps.

The idea is to have some of the Danish Olympics athletes in Athens, as well as former winners, appear in the Grundfos campaign. This way, the Danish athletes help personify the ambition to always strive for the best performances. A mentality that the Olympic athletes share with the pump group - which is why the testimonials from active athletes will help sell Grundfos' message that responsibility, thinking ahead and innovation are integrated in Grundfos pumps.

Marketing Manager at TEAM DANMARK, Mr Steen Fladberg says; "It is a great pleasure to cooperate with one of the largest business icons in Denmark. Partly because it validates TEAM DANMARK's concept in an international perspective, and because Danish elite sports will be widely exposed internationally.

Grundfos Group Games

Simultaneous to the marketing campaign on the big markets, a large internal Grundfos campaign will be introduced, where Group employees can compete in different disciplines throughout the spring of 2004.

The purpose of the Group campaign is to encourage even more commitment and ownership of the group's core values among the 11,000 employees. The competition will relate to the Groups core values: Being responsible, Thinking ahead and Innovation, which make up the three pillars Grundfos' corporate philosophy.
