Flowserve SIHI Heritage Brand Awarded the Technical Innovation of the Year Award by the Pump Industry Awards

29.07.2016

Flowserve Corporation announced its Flowserve SIHI heritage brand was recently awarded the prestigious Technical Innovation of the Year Award by the Pump Industry Awards.

SIHIBoost provides dramatically quicker evacuation at deep vacuum levels with less power and a smaller footprint. By harvesting the kinetic energy of heavier rotors that run five times faster than typical machinery, it is quieter, safer and cleaner. Mass inertia is stored during idle periods and can be released immediately. In addition, hydraulic optimization enables unique pump pressure gradients of one-million-to-one. Mechanatronically synchronized, contact-free moving parts reduce the need for oil-centric lubrication.

Shaun Hampson, General Manager, Flowserve SIHI (UK) accepted the award on behalf of the company during a ceremony in Oxfordshire, UK.

"We are pleased to be one of eight worthy winners to receive this global award, which recognizes industry products for their unique features, benefits and far-reaching innovative solutions," Hampson said. "Flowserve SIHI has highly dedicated teams, strategic positioning and innovative power that truly make a difference."

Launched 16 years ago, the Pump Industry Awards are held in association with the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) and have become a widely respected platform for recognizing significant industry achievement. The Technical Innovation of the Year Award recognizes companies that produce products with unique features, multiple benefits and far-reaching innovative solutions.

The award is sponsored by Process Industry Informer, the UK process industry magazine and news service geared toward process and chemical engineers in the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, power and energy, plastics and rubber, paper and pulp, metals and minerals, and waste and wastewater industries.
