Change at the Top of GF Automotive

Ferdinand Stutz, Head of GF Automotive and member of the Executive Committee of Georg Fischer since 1998, has decided to continue his career outside Georg Fischer. He will therefore relinquish his function at the end of October 2008.

His successor is Josef Edbauer, currently head of the Iron Casting Technology Unit of GF Automotive. He will also be a member of the

Executive Committee.

Ferdinand Stutz (51) has worked for Georg Fischer since 1995 and took over as Head of GF Automotive in January 1998. Under his leadership, the Corporate Group has developed into a leading development partner and manufacturer of highly stressable cast components and systems for the international motor vehicle industry. The Board of Directors and Executive Committee thank Ferdinand Stutz for his deep commitment and successful contribution and wish him all the best for the future.

Josef Edbauer (51) can look back on a long and successful career at Georg Fischer which has included numerous demanding tasks in the past 30 years. In July 2005 he was appointed to head up the entire iron casting business, which, with its sites in Germany and Austria, generates revenues of over CHF 1.2 billion. He greatly strengthened this business and expanded it profitably.

Previously, from 1999 on, he had headed Automobilguss GmbH, Singen, the largest production facility of GF Automotive. Prior to that, he had held a number of responsible positions in facility planning, maintenance, processing and logistics, including a four-year stint in the United Kingdom.

Josef Edbauer is a German citizen and holds a mechanical engineering degree Dipl.-Ing. (FH) from the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences.

The Executive Committee now has the following members: Yves Serra, CEO; Josef Edbauer, GF Automotive; Pietro Lori, GF Piping Systems; Michael Hauser, GF AgieCharmilles; Roland Abt, CFO; Ernst Willi, Corporate Development; Jürg Krebser, Delegate of the CEO for Corporate Projects.
