Bell & Gossett, a unit of ITT Industries, has opened a manufacturing plant in Shenyang, China. The 17,000 square foot assembly center adds local manufacturing to improve flexibility and decrease lead times for the company’s centrifugal pumps that are sold throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Already a principal supplier of pumps and accessories for China’s prominent commercial and entertainment facilities such as the ScienceLand science museum in Shanghai and the new stadium in Guangzhou, the Shenyang facility will strengthen Bell & Gossett’s position in the region by bringing the company’s high quality, U.S.- designed products to the Asian market.

During the grand opening ceremonies on October 28, 2002, John Everhart, Director of International Sales and Marketing for ITT Industries’ Fluid Handling unit, said, “The new facility provides our distributors and customers with locally produced, high quality products and services. We believe it is important to focus on adding value to all aspects of our business, including products, training, and customer support. This facility is a key element to meet the expanding needs of our local customers.”

Pasquale (“Pat”) DePalma, President of ITT’s Fluid Handling Division, said, “Our new Shenyang facility is an example of Fluid Handling Division’s increasing focus on the international marketplace,” adding, “the new facility is an investment in the future for both China and ITT Industries.”

Bell & Gossett, a unit of ITT Industries, is a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, hydronic specialties, heat exchangers, condensate handling equipment, and packaged systems for variable and constant speed pumping, heat transfer and pressure boosting.
