Alfa Laval announces changes in its Group Management effective as per April 1st, 2003.

Yannick Richomme, Executive Vice President and responsible for the Process Technology Division, has decided to leave the Group for private reasons.

Ulf Granstrand, Executive Vice President, will become President of the Process Technology Division and he will leave his responsibility as President of the Division Operations.

Göran Mathiasson has been appointed Executive Vice President and President of the Division Operations. Göran Mathiasson is today responsible for Global Manufacturing, which is one of three main functions within this Division.

Commenting on the fact that Yannick Richomme has decided to leave the Group, Sigge Haraldsson, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group, says:

“I have the deepest respect for Yannick Richomme and his decision to leave the Alfa Laval Group. To be a top manager and an international businessman is tough in today’s environment and it is of course even tougher if it means that you have to live apart from your family. This has been the reality for Mr. Richomme during almost five years, as he has his family in Paris.”

Mr. Yannick Richomme comments on his decision to leave the Alfa Laval Group:

“Let me first of all assure you that this has not been an easy decision. However, sooner or later you come to a point in life when you have to get your priorities right and in my case, even if I still think I can contribute on the international arena, I have placed my private priorities first. I will stay inside the Alfa Laval Group until the end of June and support the transmission of responsibilities. After summer I will start to plan for my new carrier, which for sure will include an office closer to my home address.

Mr. Ulf Granstrand, Executive Vice president and member of the Alfa Laval Group Management during the last ten years, will become President of the Process Technology Division, which is one of two business divisions inside the Alfa Laval Group. The Process Technology Division - offers unique solutions that help customers optimize their processes. The Process Technology Division supplies everything from components to systems incl. service and is based upon extensive process and product expertise in combination with innovative technologies. They target a number of specific customer segments such as Energy and Environmental, Food and Beverages, Biotech & Pharmaceuticals, and Chemical & other Process Industries. Ulf Granstrand is presently responsible for the Operations Division, a responsibility he has had during the last two years. He was previously Regional Responsible President for our Western European markets and before that, in the previous Alfa Laval organization, he was head of Business Area Thermal.

Göran Mathiasson has been appointed Executive Vice President and member of the Alfa Laval Group Management with a special responsibility for the Operations Division. Göran Mathiasson is today responsible for Manufacturing, which is one of three main functions within this Division:

- Purchasing - all production related purchasing

- Logistics - global distribution

- Manufacturing - global manufacturing consisting of 20 manufacturing units worldwide

Sigge Haraldsson continues: “The appointment of Ulf Granstrand and Göran Mathiasson guarantees a continuation of our present strategy.”
