With over 400 exhibitors from 25 different countries, more than 12,000 visitors and around 100 lectures AchemAsia spans the entire range of process engineering and biotechnology, the focus being on topics specifically relevant to Asia. Thus it offers exhibitors a unique opportunity not only to present their products and services to the trade in China, but at the same time to get informed on the state-of-the-art of research and technology there.

China has even weathered the financial crisis, retaining its position as one of the world s most potent growth poles. At the same time this country is fast turning out to be an innovation driver, boosted by substantial government-funded programmes and ever more industrial research initiatives. There is also a striking surge of interest in sustainable production processes and environmental technologies. Due to the raw materials situation researchers are constantly pushing the frontiers in coal chemistry and petrochemistry. Furthermore, with over 5,000 companies the biotechnology scene is also booming.

13 exhibition groups accommodate the vast range of the process industry. They include process technology, pharmaceutical production, agricultural chemistry and food processing, laboratory techniques and raw materials supply. The Congress programme has adopted a new concept, addressing key themes in satellite symposia, each organized together with local partners. The topics include joining technology, raw materials, production-integrated environmental protection, process analytics and product safety.

For the second time since 2010 AchemAsia will take place in the China National Convention Center in the Olympic village. Modern exhibition and congress facilities coupled with excellent infrastructure make it a perfect venue for exhibitors and visitors alike. The event is being organised by DECHEMA together with the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC), with numerous national and international cooperation partners involved in the preparations.
