Algerian Energy Minister Opens NAPEC

The 6th North Africa Petroleum Exhibition and Conferences (NAPEC) began in Algiers with 25,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors from 30 countries expected to attend and contribute.

Speaking at this morning’s Inauguration Ceremony, the Algerian Energy Minister - Dr. Salah Khebri used NAPEC as a platform to announced Algeria energy objective going forward,” we expect two new refineries to be operating by 2020 at Tiaret and Hassi Messaoud”. He went on to say that Algeria wished to expand it reserves and production capacity while pursuing an active exploration in areas that have not as yet been surveyed. He went on to say, “NAPEC has become a major event in the oil and gas calendar”.

The Brazilian Ambassador Eduardo Botelho Barbosa said ” I am pleased to be here again, the fact that NAPEC has increased in size demonstrates the potential of the Algerian market. I am happy that WEG, a Brazilian company, is exhibiting here and I know the company has succeeded in doing business in Algeria”.

Over the next three days, oil and gas professionals from over 30 countries will gain valuable insights from senior industry experts into the current challenges and opportunities facing both oil and gas operators and suppliers in North Africa, visit an exhibition in which over 400 exhibitors will be showcasing the latest products, services and technologies, and enjoy many opportunities to develop new professional relationships and strengthen existing ones.
