The Flowserve Corporation announced that Thomas L. Pajonas, 48, will join the Flowserve Corporation as president of the Flow Control Division (FCD) and will report to C. Scott Greer, the company's chairman, president and chief executive officer. Pajonas succeeds George Shedlarski, the current FCD president, who announced his intention to retire effective April 30.

Most recently, Pajonas was senior vice president of the Worldwide Power Segment Business for Alstom, a global $1.2 billion business with more than 4,000 employees. Possessing over 25 years of global experience in engineering, manufacturing and operations leadership, Pajonas previously held roles of increasing responsibility in engineering, operations and supply management with ABB and Combustion Engineering.

"Tom brings the right combination of experience to Flowserve," said Greer. "His large company experience, industrial business savvy and global experience in many of our growing market areas will help drive the Flowserve vision for the future.

"I also thank George Shedlarski for his more than 30 years of service to the flow control industry plus the leadership he provided Flowserve and its heritage companies in the growth of the Flowserve business portfolio," Greer said.

Pajonas has a B.S.M.E. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was a member of the ABB Global Business Consortium at the London Business School. During his career with ABB, he resided in Finspong, Sweden as well as having served on the Board of Directors for entities in Indonesia, Germany and Mexico.
