The project was funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region's Fondo Energia (PR FESR), the financial support instrument that helps local businesses reduce their energy consumption, increase self-production from renewable sources, and invest in sustainable innovation.
The company plans to combine several technological and structural interventions:
- Installing a photovoltaic system to generate energy for self-consumption directly on site.
- Updating the lighting and compressed air systems, including relamping with high-efficiency lighting.
- Integrating industrial building automation systems with smart control and real-time consumption monitoring.
According to Zenit Italia, the measures are intended to reduce the plant’s carbon footprint and increase its energy independence.
