When Big is Not Big Enough

04.04.2006

APV announces the introduction of one of the largest, high-efficiency, hygienic centrifugal pumps on the market.

When Big is Not Big Enough

The pump is capable of transferring up to 750 m³/h and performs optimally at 50 mWc and 600 m³/h with an exceptionally high efficiency.

For bulk applications, a single W+ 50/600 can replace several parallel process lines with parallel pipe work and electrical wiring. This makes the plant set-up less complicated, reduces the requirement for spare parts, and offers a more favourable financial solution in terms of both initial purchase and operating costs.

On electricity alone, calculations show, that if one W+ 50/600 pump is installed instead of two smaller pumps, total energy costs can typically be reduced by € 3,800 a year (based upon 2,700 running hours).

According to product manager, Jesper H. Rasmussen, the pump was developed especially for large filtration applications and represents the latest line extension on the well-proven W+ centrifugal pump. Like the rest of the product line, the W+ 50/600 is based on a unique hydraulic design, which combines maximum efficiency with high hygiene standards. A critical design feature is the patented APV spiral volute, which increases efficiency, reduces turbulence, and ensures gentle product handling.
