Teikoku acquires Chempump

Teikoku USA announced the purchase all of the assets (less real estate) of the Chempump Division of the Crane Corporation effective March 1, 2003. Chempump manufactures canned motor pumps primarily for use in the chemical processing industry.

Teikoku announced that this acquisition will provide it with a manufacturing base in the United States that will allow it to take full advantage of NAFTA and to offer their customers a broader range of support options. Chempump has manufacturing, service, and repair facilities in Warrington, Pennsylvania and Belmont, West Virginia.

Teikoku USA Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Teikoku Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Japan, the worlds largest manufacturer of canned motor pumps, mixers and other related equipment.

Crane Co. is a diversified manufacturer of engineered industrial products. Crane Co. is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:CR).
