West Africa is an established region for the mining of minerals and Oil & Gas exploration and production. Through its Bolting Systems range of products and services, SPX Flow has a long history in the supply of controlled bolting solutions in the area with the support of local distributor, Power Team South Africa. The new calibration centre will offer enhanced local support to customers in West Africa.

Chris Cashmore, Bolting Systems BD lead at SPX Flow commented, “The Bolting Systems brand is strong in West Africa and the new calibration centre is part of our continued commitment to enhance customer service and experience. We have many customers in the region, and, with the support of Power Team South Africa, this new calibration centre located at Bosch Rexroth’s existing facility in Ghana is fully set up to provide expert, local support.”

At the facility in Takoradi, Bosch Rexroth Ghana has installed two dedicated workbenches for the servicing and calibration of torque wrenches and pumps. Staff have been fully trained and the site can now offer the same types of service as provided by SPX Flow and Power Team South Africa. The rigs installed are capable of testing and calibrating both SPX Flow and third-party tools and equipment with capacities of up to 50,000 Nm (37,000 lbft).

Alexander Booth, Regional Manager at Bosch Rexroth Ghana said, “We already have a lot of clients and demand for local service. Having this facility fits well with the Bosch Rexroth business and is great for local customers.”

Cashmore concluded, “It makes sense for us to expand our service network in West Africa to support the mining, oil and gas industries. As with all our service partners, customers who use the new calibration centre at the Bosch Rexroth facility will get the highest level of service and support from fully trained, professional personnel.”
