New Management Structure at the WELTEC Group

Together with environmental services provider PreZero and Enagás Renovable, WELTEC BIOPOWER began construction of a biomethane plant north of Madrid in August 2026. Once operational, the plant in Colmenar Viejo will generate up to 60 gigawatt-hours of green energy annually, equivalent to the energy requirements of approximately 11,700 households or 30,000 residents.

Dedicated to sustainable energy for a quarter of a century: WELTEC BIOPOWER is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, looking back on an impressive track record. Since its foundation in 2001, the company, based in Vechta, has evolved from a specialist plant manufacturer into an internationally sought-after full-service provider of biogas and biomethane plants.

“WELTEC BLUE WATER” now replaces Kumac. With this new name, WELTEC BIOPOWER is responding to international market requirements for its tried and tested slurry and digestate treatment systems. In recent years, 17 plants have already been put into operation worldwide. The first WELTEC BLUE WATER plant in Germany has also been in operation since March 2024.

In order to increase visibility of its service portfolio and improve access to information, WELTEC BIOPOWER has completely overhauled its website. The new website is a modern, clearly structured, international platform offering users quick, intuitive access to information on technologies, projects, and current developments.

Traditionally, progressive cavity (PC) pumps have been regarded as the best solution for the most demanding fluid pumping challenges. They excel at handling highly viscous, abrasive, and debris-laden media, making them particularly effective in wastewater treatment facilities.

To boost the GEMÜ Group’s international presence and make customers an even greater priority, the Hohenlohe-based valve manufacturer reorganized its Company Management in November 2025. Stephan Gehrig is a new addition to Company Management at the GEMÜ Group as the new Managing Director of Sales and Marketing.
