Modine Manufacturing Plant Celebrates 50-Year Anniversary
Modine Manufacturing Company’s facility in Buena Vista, VA, recently celebrated its 50 year anniversary. Built in 1963, Buena Vista saw Modine unit heaters first roll off the line in December of that year. Today, the facility supports the company’s Commercial Products Group and produces its full line of gas fired unit heaters, including the Effinity93.

Because of the group’s continued growth, the Buena Vista plant also produces Modine’s Airedale ClassMate and SchoolMate line of DX and heat pump classroom ventilation systems, the Atherion packaged rooftop ventilation equipment, WeatherHawk outdoor air systems, and infrared heating units. Buena Vista, and the accompanying warehouse in nearby Lexington, VA, employ approximately 180 employees.
To mark the anniversary, Modine recently held a celebratory luncheon. During the afternoon, tours of the manufacturing facility were provided for hundreds of retirees, family members and local city officials.
The company, founded in 1916 in Racine, Wisconsin, specializes in thermal management systems and components, bringing highly engineered heating and cooling technology and solutions to diverse global markets.
