ITT Industries Appoints Director of Operational Excellence

ITT Industries, Inc. announced the appointment of John P. Williamson to the newly created position of Vice President, Director of Operational Excellence.

In his new role, Williamson will have global responsibility for a range of strategic activities including integrated supply chain and strategic sourcing, acquisition/merger integration and the company's Value-Based Six Sigma, Lean and other improvement initiatives. In this role, he will report directly to ITT's Chief Executive Officer Steve Loranger. Williamson joins ITT from Danaher Corporation, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Danaher Electronic Test Platform, Fluke Corporation, in Everett, Washington.

"Developing and implementing a global sourcing strategy, aggressively driving our Premier Resource Strategy process, institutionalizing the ITT management System, Six Sigma and Lean practices are critical to better serving our customers and maintaining the revenue and earnings growth ITT has enjoyed in recent years," said Steve Loranger. "In accepting this assignment, John fills a critical position to drive process improvements that will help our value centers be more successful. He will immediately play a key role on ITT's Executive Council, and I look to him to lead an already strong organization to a world-class level."

Williamson, 44, joins ITT with more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience in global manufacturing organizations, including 17 years with Danaher and successor companies, including Fluke, a global manufacturer of electrical and electronic test and measurement equipment. In his most recent position there, Williamson had global responsibility for manufacturing, supply chain, quality, service, platform business systems, continuous improvement and IT operations. He also served as manufacturing representative on the Danaher Corporate China Management Board.

Company Founder Ayhan Busch Celebrates Her 90th Birthday

Ayhan Busch, co-founder and co-owner of the Busch Group, was celebrating her 90th birthday on June 8. She is still active in the company, travels to manager meetings and welcomes guests, such as the Governor of the US state of Virginia recently. Just yesterday, she inaugurated the new “Central Park” on the grounds of the Busch headquarters in Maulburg, Germany.
