Internal Solution for CFO Succession
Bruno Allmendinger, CFO since 1998, wishes to take early retirement in 2007. Peter Meier has been selected as his successor.
Peter Meier, who has occupied various positions at Sulzer since joining the corporation in 1992, is currently Head of Finance and Controlling at the Sulzer Metco division. He will assume his new function on March 1, 2007.
Bruno Allmendinger (60) has expressed his desire to retire after 36 years of service with Sulzer, of which nine years were spent as its CFO. Sulzer initiated an early selection process and has appointed Peter Meier as the successor. The succession will take place after completion of the annual financial statements for 2006, for which Bruno Allmendinger will still be responsible.
Peter Meier (41), a Swiss citizen, began his career at Sulzer in 1992. He has held various positions in Switzerland and abroad. His latest assignments were as Head of Finance and Controlling for Sulzer Chemtech (2001-04) and Sulzer Metco (since 2004). Before joining Sulzer, he gained professional experience at various banks and industrial companies. Peter Meier has graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich and holds CPA and MBA degrees.
