IDEX Corporation Appoints Gregory B. Kenny to its Board of Directors

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IDEX Corporation (NYSE: IEX), today announced that Gregory B. Kenny, 49, joined its board of directors.

Kenny is president and chief executive officer of General Cable

Corporation, a $2 billion manufacturer and distributor of copper, aluminum and

fiber optic wire and cable products headquartered in Highland Heights, KY.

Kenny holds a B.S. from Georgetown University, an M.B.A. from George

Washington University and an M.P.A. from Harvard University.

Dennis K. Williams, IDEX's chairman, president and chief executive

years' experience in industrial markets and prior position as a foreign

service officer with the U.S. State Department, with tours in South America
