Dechema And Hanover Fairs Sulamerica Join Forces

17.11.2015

Dechema and Hanover Fairs Sulamerica join forces for the organization of TeQ 2016, the international trade show for process industry suppliers. The event is scheduled for November 8-10, 2016 at Riocentro in Rio de Janeiro and covers all sectors of the chemical value chain ranging from Laboratory Equipment, Chemical & Biotechnological Processing, Pharma & Food Processing, Plant Components, Packaging, Storage & Logistics, Measurement, Control & Automation and Research & Innovation

Bringing together Dechema’s industry expertise and network of experts in the chemical industries as well as the bioeconomy and HFSA’s long-standing experience in the organization of trade shows and strong relations in the Brazilian market, TeQ 2016 is expected to significantly promote international cooperation and projects. In a challenging economic environment, the Brazilian chemical industry has set clear goals for strategic development and diversification, capitalizing on the country’s broad range of resources and the already existing strong sectors such as cosmetics or agrochemicals. A special emphasis is put on the bioeconomy: Brazil has a decade-long experience in biomass processing and the production of platform chemicals from renewable resources and is set on exploring the potential of its biodiversity to create sustainable and innovative new sectors. There is also strong interest in water technologies, sustainable generation and efficient use of energy and automation technologies.

The cooperation agreement between Dechema e.V. and Hannover Fairs Sulamerica was signed in October. “The Brazilian market has great potential. With this joint project, we establish a meeting point for industry experts from all over the world to explore the possibilities”, says Kurt Wagemann, Executive Director of Dechema e.V.

For Valério Regente, managing director of Hannover Fairs Sulamérica, “The project has already started successful, with the participation of important sector players at the launch“.

On October 26th TeQ had its launch during an event in Rio de Janeiro, gathering companies, associations, syndicates and other industry’s representatives to present researches, market innovations and discuss the future of relations between Brazil and Germany for the Chemical Industry.

Canned Motor Pump Technology Has Multiple Advantages

13.03.2024 -

Using canned motor technology for submersible pumps provides significant advantages. A short shaft, only two slide bearings – independent from the immersion depth – and various monitoring functions not only ensure high reliability but also mean cost advantages for the operator. Since it is supplied as a lock pump, easy servicing is guaranteed at the same time.

Multi screw pump moves highly viscous heavy oil at low NPSHa

22.02.2024 -

At a tank farm in a Brazilian sea port, two centrifugal pumps were used for transferring heavy oil from storage tanks to road tankers or vessels until February 2020. This required the high viscosity of the medium to be reduced by means of diesel injection, costing the owner at least 2,000 US dollars each day. In addition, the centrifugal pumps regularly broke down due to cavitation damage. The owners decided to initially replace one of the two centrifugal pumps with a NOTOS multi screw pump from NETZSCH. Due to its very good suction capabilities, the selected four-screw 4NS is also suitable for highly viscous media with up to 200,000 cSt, achieving a flow rate of up to 3000 m³/h.
