Fedoz Nigeria Limited, headquartered in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, is a well-respected oil & gas services company known for its high standards. Serving both onshore and offshore oil & gas industries across West Africa and beyond, Fedoz Nigeria has earned a reputation for excellence in the region.
This initial order involves replacing an aging API 610 Girdlestone 980 raw water pump, originally installed in 1996 at the Bonney River Terminal, which has now reached the end of its operational life. The replacement pump from Amarinth needed to seamlessly integrate with the existing infrastructure, ensuring that operations could continue without interruption. The new pump had to match the footprint of the old unit, align with existing pipework, connect to the drain valve, and deliver the same performance.
Given that Girdlestone pumps became obsolete some two decades ago, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacements are no longer available. However, Amarinth has developed a range of pumps that are both hydraulically and dimensionally interchangeable with the Girdlestone range, enabling a straightforward plug-and-play replacement solution.
Amarinth has established itself as the go-to provider for high-quality spares and replacement pumps for the now-obsolete Girdlestone line. By retaining many of the original Girdlestone engineers within the company, Amarinth ensures that operators can extend the life of their pumps and replace them cost-effectively with minimal downtime when necessary.
The new pump, equipped with a Plan 11 seal support system and operating spares, is designed to deliver reliable service for decades to come. It will be supplied within an aggressive 30-week delivery schedule, underscoring Amarinth’s commitment to meeting the urgent needs of its clients.
Oliver Brigginshaw, Managing Director of Amarinth, commented, “We are delighted to secure this first order from Fedoz Nigeria, which underscores our strategic investment in Africa. The continent is home to five of the world’s top 30 oil-producing nations, with Nigeria being the tenth most petroleum-rich country globally. Girdlestone pumps were widely used across the oil & gas industry, and we look forward to replacing these with our interchangeable range as they reach the end of their economic life.”
